Electrical Arc Flash Estimator – Full-Time Opportunity

Are you an experienced professional with a background in electrical estimating? Our client is seeking a Electrical Arc Flash Estimator to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate bids and estimates for Arc Flash Study projects. You will analyze project specifications, interpret electrical drawings, and collaborate with clients, vendors, and engineers to deliver competitive bids. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Managing Partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare precise cost estimates for Arc Flash Studies, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
• Review and analyze project documents, including electrical drawings and specifications.
• Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals to clients.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and engineers to gather necessary information, clarify details, and resolve issues.
• Track project progress and maintain accurate records in collaboration with the engineering team.
• Follow up on submitted bids to negotiate prices and confirm project details.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Proficiency in Excel for estimating and experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Teams, Zoom).
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships while understanding their needs.
• Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel 30-50% of the time in year 1 for training; up to 30% travel in year 2 and beyond.

Education & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience as an Electrician or Electrical Field Engineer in the electrical industry.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a licensed electrician certification is preferred.
• Previous experience with Arc Flash Studies is a plus, but not required.
• A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
